A genuine vintage piece, hand-knotted in Morocco and sourced from the families and markets of the regions where these traditions live. Not a reproduction, not factory-woven, not made to a standard size for export. It carries the irregularities and the wear of a rug that was made to be used.

The women of the Zayan, an Amazigh (Berber) confederation near Khenifra, weave bold rugs in warm ochre and deep red — from a people who held out against the French until 1921.

Vacuum gently and without a beater bar. Rotate periodically for even wear. Blot spills immediately — never rub. Professional cleaning only; these are natural-dye wool pieces and should never be machine washed.

A natural wool rug ages into its character. Minor shedding in the first months is normal and settles with use.
